My dear sweet baby chicks 🙂
It was cold and the heatlamp over heated during the night and blew out. Leaving the poor babies freezing for Lord knows how long. One of the Plymouth Rock chicks did not make it through the night.
Please forgive me, RIP.
The surviving chicks were appropriately cuddled and taken outside the next afternoon to catch some early rays.
It was 60 degrees outside today so we gave the hear lamp a break and cleaned out their bedding while the baby chickens got a chance to acclimate to the outdoors.
There are two Brahmas and one Plymouth Rock.

They really enjoyed their trip outdoors, pecking at the ground they found leaves and clumps of grass and found the sun to be quite warm.
The dogs really liked the chicks as well, I know they will end up being great friends.
